About Artist:
Born in 1942 Dublin, Ireland, painter Sevitt Francis has travelled all over the world, from Australia to the Canary Islands and England, moving from one life experience to another. In 1959 the young artist found her home in Isreal. During the seventies, she studied at the famed Avni Institute in Tel-Aviv and the School for Art Teachers in Ramat-Hasharon. Her studies were concluded at the Isreal Artist's Association in 1981. == Sevitt Francis (b. 1942) is an Irish-Israeli artist and graduate of the world famous Avni Institute Of Fine Arts in Tel Aviv. Her work shows a nostalgic look to gentler, kinder times. She is an expert in the use of color, and while rich, they are muted to convey a passion and sensuality that few artists can achieve.

History:
"My recollections", says Francis, "are of a time when the pace was slower, living together was altogether more gracious, and people gentler." This nostalgia for a kinder, gentler world is reflected in Francis' marvelous lyrical canvases and works in oil. aquarelle, and acrylic. Using Renaissance and Moorish influences, she is able to capture intricate detail, rich and lustrous, yet somehow muted colors, that in a way allows each canvas to sing of an imagination that suffuses everything it beholds and represents with quiet magic. Her paintings, which are predominently of women in serene settings, have been included in one-woman shows and exhibitions throught the world.
