About Artist:
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and now living in New Jersey, the artist holds a Fine Arts degree with a specialty in sculpting. Always looking for new ways to expand his artistic endeavors, he created his very first doll exclusively for Ashton-Drake. "Emily Anne" is a fine example of the artist's ability to capture lifelike qualities, such as sweet expressions and well-rounded baby features that capture the hearts of doll collectors. Collectors will be pleased to note that each "Emily Anne" doll bears the signature of the artist, is individuality numbered, and comes with a matching-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The reflective serenities of Alexander Tsalikhin's reposing whimsical beings touch a chord of self-involved contentment a step away from the grueling entanglements of contemporary civilization, pointedly reminding us of truths which lay within. The effects of line and form captured by his refined technique strangely endear his subjects to the viewer's most austere centers of fancy. Tsalikhin immigrated to the United States fro St. Petersburg, Russia in 1990 with a BFA in sculpture and a mind brimming with innovative concepts. His work has been exhibited by the National Sculpture Society and has been awarded an Artist Showcase prize at the Manhattan Arts International Competition. Tsalikhin's dolls and sculpted art have earned numerous industry awards and award nominations, and are eagerly sought after by collectors worldwide. "In my work I follow the traditional form of sculpture, but also include modern elements. A human in the state of peacefulness, dream and thought is the most interesting theme for me. I strive to transfer into my sculptures the human world inside its own mind, when one is calm inside his own world."
